Westlake, OH (July 26, 2024) – At around 9:40 a.m. on July 24, emergency crews in Westlake were summoned to provide assistance at the scene of a car crash in which one person was hurt.
Preliminary investigations show that a silver 1999 vehicle was traveling southbound on Clague Road during the morning hours. As the vehicle approached Center Ridge Road (US Route 20), the driver of a silver 2024 Hyundai Tucson was attempting to make a left turn. The driver of the Hyundai Tucson failed to yield the right of way, and as a result, the two vehicles collided. One person was hurt in the crash. EMS responded to the scene to render aid to 32-year-old Rebecca Marie Kostal. Kostal was then transported to UH St. John Medical Center for further care. The driver of the Hyundai Tucson was cited for a right-of-way violation. At this time, the crash is being investigated.
