Sylvania, OH (July 15, 2024) – The Ohio State Highway Patrol confirmed that 66-year-old Therese Fern lost her life as a result of a fatal collision that took place in Sylvania on Saturday evening, July 13. Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers out of Toledo were called to the scene of the accident at around 10:54 p.m.
Official reports show that 54-year-old Donald Christian was driving a Jeep Wrangler south on Centennial Road during the evening hours. For unknown reasons, his vehicle struck two pedestrians in the area near Erie Street. Both pedestrians were injured in the accident. The two victims were transported to area hospitals for emergency care. Authorities confirmed that one of the victims, identified as Fern, died after arriving. Christian was taken into police custody and is currently facing charges of aggravated vehicular assault and aggravated vehicular homicide. At this time, investigations are underway.
