Middleburg Heights, OH (July 17, 2024) – On July 16, the Middleburg Heights Police Department and firefighters were summoned to the scene of an automobile accident in which one person was hurt.
According to police reports, at around 11:55 a.m., a red Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Classic motorcycle was traveling southbound on Engle Road, Ohio State Route 291. As the vehicle proceeded through the 7000 block of the roadway while approaching Bagley Road, a red 2016 Jeep Cherokee attempted to make a left-hand turn into a private drive of the Cleveland Clinic – the Engle Road entrance. The driver of the Jeep failed to yield the right-of-way. As a result, the two vehicles collided. The motorcyclist was injured as a result of the accident. Emergency medical services responded to the scene and rendered aid to 72-year-old Philip Thomas Gullatta. Gullatta was then transported to Southwest General Health Center for further medical care. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
