Macedonia, OH (May 16, 2024) – A major accident reported in the Macedonia area sent three people to area hospitals with injuries. The incident occurred on May 15.
Official reports show that at around 11:40 a.m., a chemical truck from the Royal chemical plant located on South Freeway Drive exploded for unknown reasons. The tanker truck ripped in half, prompting the closure of the roadway near Interstate 271. Three people were severely injured as a result of the incident. The victims were rushed to area hospitals for emergency medical care. The driver of the vehicle suffered critical, life-threatening burns. A second victim was admitted with critical and non-life-threatening injuries. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
