Lakewood, OH (March 6, 2024) – On Monday afternoon, March 4, the Lakewood Police Department and area firefighters were called to the scene of an accident that left two people injured. The accident happened on Franklin Boulevard at around 3:30 p.m.
Police reports indicate that a black 2023 Subaru Legacy was traveling westbound on Franklin Boulevard in the area of Waterbury Road. At the same time, a black 2011 BMW 535i was traveling south on Waterbury Road. As the Subaru approached the intersection, the BMW stopped to allow two pedestrians to cross the roadway in a designated crossing area. The BMW then proceeded forward through the intersection, where the two vehicles collided.
Two people were reportedly injured in the accident. The victims, identified as a 16-year-old female and 33-year-old Meghan Bachtel Singleton, were both treated for injuries while at the scene. The teenager was then transported to Cleveland Clinic Fairview Park for further medical treatment. The incident is under investigation at this time.
