Bedford, OH (August 3, 2024) – Emergency crews in the Bedford area were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident that resulted in injuries. The Bedford Police Department was notified of the accident at around 3:45 p.m. on July 31.
Police reports indicate that a gray 2016 Ford Edge was stopped at the intersection of Broadway Avenue and Taylor Street during the afternoon hours. The vehicle was attempting to cross over Broadway Avenue and proceed westbound on Taylor Street. At the same time, a teal 2024 Kia Sportage was traveling southbound on Broadway Avenue. As the Ford Edge proceeded forward through the intersection, it was struck by the Ford Edge on the right side.
One person involved in the accident was injured. The Bedford Fire Department EMS responded to the scene to provide medical care to 77-year-old Shirley Jackson. Jackson was then transported to South Pointe Hospital for emergency treatment. At this time, the incident is under investigation.
